Petit Pois

There's no real story accompanying this dish other than it was given to me by a friend and when I first saw it being made I was skeptical. I mean, honestly, fried lettuce? Who does that? But it turns out it's an incredibly simple and tasty dish.


Ingredients
  • 25g butter
  • 8 slices of bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, halved and sliced
  • ½ Iceberg lettuce, finely shredded.
  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen).
Putting it all together
  1. Heat butter in a heavy-based pan or wok, add onion and bacon and sauté over a medium heat.
  2. Add shredded lettuce and peas.
  3. Cook until lettuce is wilted and peas are piping hot.
