There's no real story accompanying this dish other than it was given to me by a friend and when I first saw it being made I was skeptical. I mean, honestly, fried lettuce? Who does that? But it turns out it's an incredibly simple and tasty dish.

- 25g butter
- 8 slices of bacon, diced
- 1 onion, halved and sliced
- ½ Iceberg lettuce, finely shredded.
- 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen).
Putting it all together
- Heat butter in a heavy-based pan or wok, add onion and bacon and sauté over a medium heat.
- Add shredded lettuce and peas.
- Cook until lettuce is wilted and peas are piping hot.
