I mentioned in the Mushroom Pot-pie post that they go really well with mulled cider, well, here's the recipe. It's really straightforward. It's not uncommon for us to have a large pot gently heating by the fire during the winter months. Every time the pot gets low, we just top it up and keep it going. Perpetual cider.
Ingredients:
In a pot big enough to hold 6.25L of liquid, chuck everything in together.
Heat over low heat until warm. Try to avoid it simmering and never boiling.

- 5 x 1.25L bottles of hard cider (we use Little Fat Lamb)
- 1 Star Annise
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 2 vanilla beans
- 5 cloves
- Half an orange
