I found an old, handwritten recipe book on eBay and, after a nail-biting bidding war with a stranger, I managed to pip them at the post and so now a little piece of someone's family history is mine.
This is just one of the fabulous recipes in it.
Ingredients:
Cream butter and sugar, add flour and custard powder, roll in small pieces, mark crisscross with fork, bake for 10 minutes at 180°C. Join together with icing.
