Ingredients:
- 1.3kg beef (cubed ~3cm)
- 1/4 cup Shooxing wine (or brandy)
- 1 tbsp powered ginger
- 3 green onions (halved cross-wise)
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 carrots (large diced)
- 2 medium potatoes (large dice)
Putting it all together:
Throw everything into a slow cooker and cook on high for 6 hours.
OR
Throw everything into a pressure cooker and cook for 40 minutes
