- 800g chuck steak, cut into bite sized cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons mirin* (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup pear (or apple), grated
- 1/4 cup onion, grated
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced/grated
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced/grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 1 cup snowpeas
Putting it all together.
Brown the beef in oil in a pan.
Place the beef in the slow cooker, mix the remaining ingredients, except the sesame oi, seeds and green onions, and cook on low for 8+ hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
Add the snowpeas about 5 minutes before serving.
Mix in the sesame oil, seeds and green onions and enjoy!
